Rummage Sale 2007

Rummage Sale is one of ILT's annual event, and it was held on October 20th and 21st in 2007. Our purpose is to fundraise money for various community groups. We put up the posters few weeks ago to encourage people to donate unnecessary items or appliances to us and then our volunteer Mama would mark prices on it. On the day before the event, we received almost 300 miscellaneous goods and most of them were in good condition! With the support and of our community and the help of ILT members, we successfully raised over $1000 CND. The earnings of the sale was contributed to Hong Fook Mental Health Association.

慈善義賣是「我愛多倫多」青年團隊的年度活動之一，其目的是將義賣所得捐贈給不同的慈善團體並提倡環保再利用的觀念。不同於以往和亞洲夜市一起舉辦，今年我們將義賣辦在秋楓正美的十月，原本以為募集的義賣物品及響應的人潮會減少，但令人感動的是，在社區好友的支持下我們依然募集到近300件物品。兩天活動下來，我們募集到約$1200的慈善所得。除了要感謝大家的熱烈的支持響應，在此也要好好表揚ILT的義工們。他們將難得的周末假期捐給這次的義賣，並以笑容溫暖大家的心。

Bamburgh Day (百寶日) 2006

Bamburgh day was held on June 9 to 10 this year. It included many activities such as the Summer night market, martial arts demonstrations, fashion shows, traditional dances, instrumentals, hip-hop dancing and even a live concert.
On top of all those activities what was further special this year was the police demonstration that took place on Saturday with tons of fun activites by the Toronto police department.

Trip to the Royal Ontario Museum

This was our very first trip as a group to the Royal Ontario Museum. I don't have that much information on it seeing that I wasn't there. However I was handed an entire memory card full of pictures so I'm just going to post them up.

Building Roots in Canada: Self Marketing Contest

2006年3月26號我們參加了多倫多台灣商會舉辦的自我行銷觀摩賽。這場比賽主要是針對大學畢業以及有工作的年輕人士(Young Professionals)並且是加國生根系列活動的第四階段。比賽當中不但有著名演講士也有課程用來增加大家對自我行銷觀念的了解。總共有14個參賽者。

On Sunday March 26, 2006 we attended a Self Marketing contest held by the Taiwan Entrepreneurial Society Taipei / Toronto. It was primarily directed at university graduates and young professionals. This event included speeches by people working in different industries as well as workshops. In total there were 14 participants.
