Little Boss Market

法鼓山安省分會及織蓬萊文教基金會，於３月１８－２０日，攜手在大都會廣場舉辦為期三天的環保惜福義賣。因應春假機緣，鼓勵小朋友珍惜物資，循環使用；也讓孩子學習協力互助與理財，更特別規劃讓孩子完全參與的【Little Boss寶貝老板市集】及【親子才藝學習同樂會】

【Little Boss 環保市集小老板】活動，有幾項特別的意義
1. 讓孩子們趁春假機會，協助爸爸媽媽環境大掃除，整理物資。
2. 跟左鄰右舍親朋好友推廣環保理念，募集環保商品。
3. 參與環保市集，學習以物易物，或販售，或捐贈。
4. 所有販賣所得，可悉數由販售者自行收回或部分捐贈法鼓山，學習理財第一課。
5. 學習感謝，感謝所有提供協助的左鄰右舍，親朋好友。
雖然【Little Boss 環保市集小老板】活動持續三天，但是家長及孩童可以隨自己時間的方便性而選擇參加，選擇報名一天/兩天或全程參與三天活動。大都會廣場將為每個參加的寶貝老板準備愛心餐點及水果，請參加者自備飲料及環保餐具。

市集時間： 3月 18，19，20日 11：30 -- 16：00。販賣物品內容：【食品】除外，家庭日常用品，玩具，文具，書籍….皆可。

【親子才藝學習同樂會】　3月 20日（週六）的活動，除環保義賣外，也充滿了親子動手一起做的樂趣哦。每項活動出席者每人酌收材料贊助費用一元
1. 11:30 親子烹飪示範：【海苔包飯】。
2. 13:30 親子烹飪示範：【地瓜餅】。
3. 14:30 親子烹飪示範：【珍珠奶茶】。
4. 15:20 動動手工藝教室：【環保折紙工藝】。

透過本次活動，法鼓山安省分會除將已經營運有四個多月的大都會廣場義賣中心圓滿結束外，這段期間環保義賣所有收入都將100%使用在法鼓山心靈環保教育活動的推廣。本次活動，除邀請大眾前來參加外，也鼓勵各方繼續整理環保品捐贈，讓資源充分被用，更時時以身力行知福、惜福與珍愛地球的心靈環保。

大眾若有狀況良好的環保品願意捐贈販售，請即日起在每星期一至六，上午十點三十分至下午五點三十分間，將捐贈品置放在大都會廣場中庭137單位的環保品收集處，法鼓山義工將整理販售。在活動當日無法售完的物品，法鼓山將轉交蓬萊文教基金會社區環保義工，繼續販售環保品為海地及智利賑災募款，善款將捐贈慈濟基金會轉為捐贈。

歡迎社會大眾前來享受現場尋寶及親子互動的樂趣。上述所有活動地點均為大都會一樓中庭商場 (3636 STEELES AVE EAST, IBM 大樓旁) 。

為突破一般人對北美亞裔在娛樂事業及表演創作上的刻板印象，Kollaboration
成功的激起了亞裔青年創作及表演的潛能及熱情，並使之蔚為風潮。2010多倫多的表演，內容包括深具嘻哈風的饒舌歌曲·自行創作歌曲及吉他演奏等，內容豐富，精彩可期。

Kollaboration的演出，從洛杉磯·芝加哥·紐約·舊金山·休士頓到多倫多，從只有5百名觀眾的小型活動開始，到一千三百個座位銷售一空的目前盛況，Kollaboration已儼然是個音樂人才匯集，且深受群眾肯定的大型才藝展演。

許多過去曾經參與Kollaboration的表演者，如今都以為成為家喻戶曉的演藝新秀，在世界各地的娛樂圈內閃耀光芒。其中包括美國娛樂節目【SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE]的參賽者TK·在世界Beatboxing 錦標賽中稱冠的Terry Kim和Twisted Ankles 的 Jreyez 等。

Partnerships and Major Events 2009

2009 REEL Asian International Film Festival - Community Partner for the screening of "Yang Yang"

Yang Yang (陽陽) directed by Cheng Yu-Chieh (鄭有傑) tells the story of Yang Yang, a young woman and athlete with a Taiwanese mother and a French father who she has never met. Sandrine Pinna (張榕容) stars as Yang Yang and like the character Yang Yang is of Taiwanese and French descent. Sandrine also appeared in Cheng’s debut film Do Over (一年之初) and the script of Yang Yang was written especially for her to play the starring role.

Formosa was proud to be supporting the Toronto screening of this movie and working with REEL Asian.

2009 Halloween Event with Infinite Ideas Youth Group

The Halloween Haunted House was put together by a group of passionate and energetic youths from Infinite Ideas Youth Group. They planned, built, promoted and executed the project with great vision and organization.

Showcases in performing, visual and culinary arts surrounded by the melody of "Spring Breeze", the most popular and famous Taiwanese folk song on earth, will reveal the desires of young men and women to seek the perfect companion for the new journey in life.

大學及職場資訊研討會

２００９大學＆職場資訊研討會

學期將近尾聲，高中生們正為申請學校而煩腦，應屆畢業生們正為進入職場做最後衝刺，大學生們正為繼續就讀或進入職場而陷入兩難，在這人生的十字路口，該如何抉擇呢？一年一度的「大學及職場資訊研討會」將在本週六（11月21日）上午十一時半至下午四時於大都會廣場舉行，屆時將會有11所大學及多位在職專業人士到場分享就學及就業經驗。
此次資訊展是由蓬萊文教基金會、大都會廣場、多倫多大覺台灣同學會以及約克大學台灣同學會共同舉辦，活動當日將邀請多所大學到場擺設資訊攤位，各大學代表不僅將會提供各學校的詳細資料，並接受現場諮詢，歡迎各個年級的高中生與父母親一同參加，把握此次的機會，進一步的了解安省各大學之差異、申請程序與各系所的入學條件。

另外，針對不同科系的大學生，主辦單邀請來自電子工程、通訊、企管、設計、醫藥、行銷到分子生物研究等不同領域的社會專業人士及研究生來解說及分享經驗，研討會的主題包括如何包裝自己？如何選擇合適的研究所？如何找尋心中理想職業？以及職場面試經驗談等，相信藉由此次的資訊會，大學生們在面對未來的學業及職場生涯將更有自信。
現在經濟低迷，應屆畢業生求職可說是困難重重，畢業即失業，因此在職場生涯規劃部分特別分設兩個主題: 一個是從專業人士的觀點跟大家分享他們求職的心路歷程以及如何於其行業成功的秘訣，並且告訴各位面試時必須注意的地方，主管優先考量的部分以及申請該行業的基本條件；另一方面，專業人士會以多年經驗帶領大家了解如何創業及規劃成功的事業生涯。

本次資訊展是第六次舉辦，每年吸引近300人次。此資訊展邀請所有年級的高中生、大學生及研究生參加，更歡迎想進一步了解大學申請制度以及求職秘訣的父母偕同兒女參加。

As some of you might know, the annual Bamburgh Day is coming up on July 26 which is a Saturday this year.

The theme is going to be Cops and community charity event and we are going to be hosting a big rummage sale in conjunction with the other events.

擂茶 @ Harbourfont

今天有一見有趣的事情發生..

因為這幾天Harbourfront Centre有在辦Luminato這個活動, 所有活動人潮都很多..
但是昨天下午我得知消息說有一個泡茶活動因為主辦跟活動展示單位有溝通問題所以面臨停辦的危機. 這時候這ㄇ辦ㄋ?
當然請我們ILT出面處理阿! (結果後來沒有王叔叔還有賴伯伯也是辦不成的)...
王叔叔就選擇利用這個機會展示我們台灣客家文化的傳統擂茶. 示範由賴伯伯負責而Yoyo, Raymond還有我單單負責翻譯, 幫忙客人嘗試, 拉客等等. 雖然準備時間一天不到, 但是後來感覺上整個表演一切都很成功, 不單有20-30個人來品嘗, 賴伯伯也準備了一個具有特色的半小時解說.

這場活動表示了什麼ㄋ?

FCSO and ILT Day Trip for Doors Open Toronto

多倫多門戶大開..中文解說導覽活動

Welcome to the FCSO blog.. We have been talking about having a website for quite a while now, but with all the hassle and expenses relating to creating a fully functioning website, its probably a better idea to start with a blog..

Anyways, for all of you that missed our one day trip around some of the Doors Open attractions last sunday, heres a short recap...

It started early in the morning at 9:00 am, I don't think many of the volunteers (including me) were fully awake yet at that time. We have two school buses with around 38-40 people on each not including us.

Bus A's Trip:

4) Spadina Museum
5) Casa Loma

Bus B's Trip

So as you can see, it was going to be quite a full day...
We had around 10 volunteers show up that day including our semi-professional photographer Michael.

Our first spot was the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir which is a newly built Hindu Temple in the west side of the city. As you can see in the photos it was quite a masterpiece.

2008年多倫多門戶大開活動，我愛多倫多青年工作團隊今年以10名義工，兩部校車，帶領85位社區貴賓以中文作參觀導覽；第一站為本年度活動超人氣推薦景點．．BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir，位於207高速公路北的印度神廟．

神廟庭園及2007年落成之新大理石建築外觀

新建神廟是由24,000片手工精雕的大理石以無鋼筋手法拼合而成.

Alot of people showed up that day and I think the Toronto Star mentioned it as being one of the most see destinations this year. Luckily we arrived early and skipped most of the lineup.

After this, on my bus at least, we went to the courtyard house.. It was an interesting place to say the least, it was built buy a designer that envisioned a simple yet efficient design of a living space that can be used anywhere.
第二站參觀多次獲得建築設計獎的..庭園小築,裡面有很多令人讚嘆的巧思與精工哦.

However before we got to Spadina Museum everybody was already pretty hungry so we stopped at a park and grabbed lunch before continuing.

After this we headed over to Casa Loma... Unfortunatly part of the castle was closed for renovations on that day and the entrance fees were pretty high so we just took a quick look around the gardens and the stables.

ILT Volunteer Gathering

These pictures are from our first ILT gathering this year.. it was held February 5th at the Japanese restaurant in Empress Walk, just under the empire theatres...

The cameras a bit blurry (sorry my camera sucks) and the smoke kind of clouds the second photo.
Oh well, so long you can see that almost everyone was there!! :)

Rummage Sale 2007

Rummage Sale is one of ILT's annual event, and it was held on October 20th and 21st in 2007. Our purpose is to fundraise money for various community groups. We put up the posters few weeks ago to encourage people to donate unnecessary items or appliances to us and then our volunteer Mama would mark prices on it. On the day before the event, we received almost 300 miscellaneous goods and most of them were in good condition! With the support and of our community and the help of ILT members, we successfully raised over $1000 CND. The earnings of the sale was contributed to Hong Fook Mental Health Association.

慈善義賣是「我愛多倫多」青年團隊的年度活動之一，其目的是將義賣所得捐贈給不同的慈善團體並提倡環保再利用的觀念。不同於以往和亞洲夜市一起舉辦，今年我們將義賣辦在秋楓正美的十月，原本以為募集的義賣物品及響應的人潮會減少，但令人感動的是，在社區好友的支持下我們依然募集到近300件物品。兩天活動下來，我們募集到約$1200的慈善所得。除了要感謝大家的熱烈的支持響應，在此也要好好表揚ILT的義工們。他們將難得的周末假期捐給這次的義賣，並以笑容溫暖大家的心。
此活動的收入全數捐給「康福心裡治療協會」

Bamburgh Day (百寶日) 2006

Bamburgh day was held on June 9 to 10 this year. It included many activities such as the Summer night market, martial arts demonstrations, fashion shows, traditional dances, instrumentals, hip-hop dancing and even a live concert.
On top of all those activities what was further special this year was the police demonstration that took place on Saturday with tons of fun activites by the Toronto police department.
